I want feedback on this - should I, or shouldn't I have a OVN or an Orange Version Newsletter?

So, tell me what you think.. Post here, or send suggestions to webmaster@mewizland.zzn.com - also, you can send fanbattles there as well..

I've been wondering the same thing for the past few weeks. should the Illumina Version have an IVN?(Illumina Version Newsletter) Or would that be crossing the line when it comes to copying the main pokebattles site?

That certainly raises an interesting question. If every fan site created its own newsletter, there is no way that you could expect anyone to subscribe to each and every one.

I don't think it's so much of a 'copying' issue as it is an issue of practicality. Does your site bring in enough traffic to justify creating a newsletter?

Consider Pokebattles.com - on its best days it can bring in over a hundred unique visitors. Usually, none of these visitors will subscribe to the PBN. On the average week (between 500-600 unique visitors) about three people will sign up.

So if you're going to make a newsletter, you should consider the fact that people don't generally jump at the chance to subscribe to a newsletter unless they really like your site.

I suggest that you focus on getting more traffic before considering sending out a Newsletter. It won't hurt to let people start signing up for it now, though. It will give you an idea of how many people are interested.
